Here is a historic photo made in Sochi on the 31 May 1961. The man in the middle is Yuri Gagarin relaxing on the Black Sea coast after his space mission on the 12 April 1961. To the right of him is his wife Valentina, and the old man next to her is the retired Marshal Voroshilov, former Stalin’s Minister of Defence and a Civil War hero. The lady in front of Gagarin is my mother, and the man in the first row to the left of her is my father (responsible for the retrofire engine of Gagarin’s re-entry capsule).
