- Read a
recent profile
piece written by Science magazine (Next Wave)
- I have
recently been nominated as an Advanced
Research Fellow of EPSRC (Engineering and Physical Sciences
Research Council) in the UK to pursue my work on function theory in
multiply connected domains
- click
here to download
a PDF version of my presentation at the 2005 American Physical Society
meeting in Chicago. It concerns the calculation of the lift forces on
multiple aerofoils.

a PDF version of my presentation at the 2004 American Physical Society
meeting in Seattle. It's on vortex motion in the presence of solid boundaries.
- I'm a
lucky recipient of a Philip Leverhulme Prize. Read more about this here.

- I am organizing
a satellite meeting to the upcoming ICM-2006 in Madrid: the satellite
conference website is at www.ucm.es/info/isiam
- Watch
out for the special issue of the Journal
of Engineering Mathematics (Vol 50, Issues 2/3, 2004) on
``Thin Film Flows'' of which I was an invited Editor

- The above
figure shows new solutions for Stuart vortices on a sphere (read
more)
- Read a
recent review
of "Conformal mapping methods for interfacial dynamics" which
I wrote for Springer (with M. Bazant of MIT)
- Take a
look at our winning entry to the ``Gallery of Nonlinear Images'' competition
at the APS March Meeting in Canada in 2004. The simulation, performed
using iterative conformal mapping techniques, is of transport-limited
aggregation on the surface of a sphere (joint work with Bazant,
Davidovitch and Choi)
- I am a
participant in the European Network in Geometry, Mathematical Physics
and Applications (ENIGMA);
I am also involved in the European Science Foundation project entitled
(Methods of Integrable Systems, Geometry, Applied Mathematics -- MISGAM).
